NWS StormReady®Program
Working Toward a Weather-Ready Nation

The Mercer County Emergency Management Office has successfully completed the rigorous process in order to achieve the StormReady status through the Blacksburg, Virginia National Weather Service branch.

Mercer County Office of Emergency Management congratulates WVVA as being the first StormReady supporter in the State of West Virginia (November 2013).

Congratulations also to Bluefield Regional Medical Center and Princeton Community Hospital, and WBOY-TV, and WVVA-TV for becoming
the most recent StormReady supporters and community.

Communities can be certified as StormReady, but other businesses, schools and non-governmental entities within these communities can become StormReady Supporters. Both require severe weather plans and severe weather safety promotion.

For Mercer County, supporters may begin the process by calling the National Weather Service in
Blacksburg, Virginia at 540-552-0084.

StormReady® in West Virginia
